Official authorised distributor. Valbuena 5º carries its essence in its name: five years of ageing between barrel and bottle. Available in 0.75 L bottle and also as Valbuena Magnum 1.5 L and Double Magnum 3 L — the format preferred by collectors for its slower, more harmonious evolution.
2020 was a challenging but brilliant year in Ribera del Duero. Spring rains secured enough water reserves for the vines to come through a very hot summer gracefully. Cool September nights slowed ripening and preserved natural acidity. The result: a Valbuena of great colour, generous fruit and solid structure, true to the house style.
Cherry red of great intensity and clarity. A complex, elegant nose: black cherry, currants, violet, vanilla and toasty notes from oak ageing. A broad, structured, well-balanced palate. Ripe, soft-textured tannins. A long, spicy finish.
Ox rib steak, roast milk-fed lamb, suckling pig, chargrilled red meats. Aged Manchego cheeses. Traditional Castilian stews.
16–17 °C · Uncork 1 hour ahead.
Optimal ageing until 2035–2040.
Valbuena 5º has 5 years of ageing, while Único exceeds 10 years. Valbuena is more approachable and fruity, Único more complex and long-lived. Both come from the same vineyards in Valbuena de Duero.

The magnum format (1.5 L) allows a slower, more harmonious evolution of the wine thanks to a more favourable volume-to-oxygen ratio. That is why collectors prefer Valbuena Magnum for cellaring over decades. Its presence at the table is also unique.
