The greatness of Pintia in half-bottle format. Ideal as a gift, for tailored pairings or simply to enjoy Vega Sicilia's Tinta de Toro at an intimate dinner. The same wine, an exclusive format.
The 2019 vintage was extraordinary in Toro. A year with balanced rainfall and a long, warm summer allowed slow, complete ripening of the Tinta de Toro. Pintia's old vines, some over 60 years old, drew the very best from the poor, sandy soil, concentrating flavours and aromas of an intensity hard to match. Ageing for 18 months in first-use French oak barrels added structure and complexity without masking the wild, authentic character of the terroir.
Deep cherry colour, almost opaque. An intense, complex nose: very ripe black fruit — blackberry, blueberry, prune — with notes of graphite, dry earth, leather and spices. On the palate it is powerful, warm and voluminous. Abundant but well-integrated tannins. A long, dark, spicy finish.
Hearty red meats, Castilian stew, big game, well-aged cheeses. A wine for winters and celebrations.
17–18 °C · Uncork 1–2 hours ahead. Decanting recommended.
Optimal ageing until 2030–2035.
